Leominster High School track students, coaches, Athletic Director, Chris Young and Superintendent Jim Jolicoeur accept $850 in donations to the Leominster Education Foundation from North Medford Running Club, Gazbar Restaurant, Knights of Columbus and Health Alliance Rehab to support new athletic track at Leominster High School. All wish them well as they compete this Saturday for the State Title. Go Blue Devils!!
Leominster High School and Center for Technical Education Innovation Students, members of United Way Youth Venture LEAD (Let’s Empower, Advocate and Do) Team were honored at the 7th Annual SHINE event Thursday, October 24th at the Double Tree Hilton in Leominster. These talented young adults were recognized for their efforts in bringing awareness and education about mental illness to their school and community. This group of high school students reacted to the December 2012 tragedy of Newtown , Connecticut, by coordinating and hosting an open, public discussion about untreated mental illness and other social factors during their “26 Angels benefit in April 2013. The LEAD team presented a check in the amount of $350 dollars to the SHINE Initiative.
